In The Shady Story: Don't Overheat, you control Shady, a nimble character racing to the finish line as quickly as possible. The game challenges you to navigate through a series of treacherous obstacles that appear in your path. Your goal is to avoid these obstacles and reach the end before time runs out.

Gameplay Mechanics:

• Navigate Obstacles: Guide Shady through an ever-changing array of obstacles.
• Pause Obstacle Creation: To prevent overheating and give yourself a breather, press the Spacebar to pause the generation of new obstacles. However, be cautious—pausing will impact your overall completion time.
• Control Directions: Use the Arrow Keys or the virtual joystick to move Shady around the space. Precision and quick reactions will help you maneuver through tight spaces and avoid obstacles.

Theme and Challenge:

Created for the PolyMars x ScoreSpace game jam with the theme “Overheat”, this game explores the tension between managing your pace and dealing with relentless obstacles. Strive to balance your need for speed with strategic pauses to avoid overheating and maximize your final score.
